Keep It Kiefy

By Paysen Hamilton - Shift Lead & Paraphernalia Specialist

In my last article we talked about that grinder gold, a.k.a kief and some of the easiest ways to collect it. Either with a grinder, kief box or straight from the source. No matter the method, hopefully by now you have acquired some of this potent pollen and are ready to expand your cannabis repertoire. So what do I do with it?

Well, you smoke it! Topping off your bowl with a little scoop of kief is a great way to kick it up a notch, especially if smoking straight flower has been feeling a little lack-luster. If that's not enough, I like to use what I call a "green screen" which is a tiny little nug just big enough to cover the hole in the bottom of my bowl then loading that sucker full of kief.  Careful though, a few too many of those and you will be glued to your couch, trust me!

Alright so maybe taking fat bong rips of kief isn't your forte, no worries. There are many different ways in which to partake. One of my favorite things to do with kief is to cook with it. There are a million different recipes on how to cook with it but here is an easy cannabis treat any stoner can accomplish. First off, I like to use a 1:1 ratio. I use 1g of kief for each stick of butter. Why? Because I like my treats to pack a punch! I simmer the butter on low until it's melted then stir in the kief. Next, I let the butter kief combo simmer for 20-30 min, this process activates the THC content in the kief giving it a psychoactive effect once consumed.
For more information on this process Google "decarboxylation". From this point you have a few options, first you can put it in a container and freeze it for later use or... Dump a bag of marshmallows and Fruity Pebbles into the mix and make literally the dopest treats of  your entire life.
