How to Make Weed Brownies
If you’re wondering about how to make weed brownies, then you came to the right place! These special brownies don’t have a grand introduction, as their taste and effects can do enough of that. While it’s best if you can go to a local dispensary, making them can be just as good, plus it gives you a fun experience to do alone or with a group of friends. Go homemade by making this recipe!
How much weed is needed for brownies?
You don’t want to just throw your cannabis into the brownies batter. You won’t get an effect that way, plus it’s going to taste bad. You’ll want to use cannabutter, cannabis oil, or cannabis sugar. These are going to be highly concentrated in THC. It’s better if it’s mixed in with the butter as it can be easily infused plus your brownies will need lots of butter if you’re trying to make thick fudgy brownies. However, if you’re vegan or you’re going to be sharing this with vegans then cannabis coconut oil can be a great way to go. This infused cannabis oil is a very important staple to cannabis recipes such as weed brownies. This cannot be skipped, and you cannot just throw weed into brownie batter.
How much cannabis should I use?
If you’re making cannabis coconut oil or butter, the most common ratio that is used would be 1 ounce of cannabis flower to every 16 ounces of oil or butter. It’s also important to properly do the math and perfectly measure all of your ingredients, including cannabis oil or butter.
Can I just use a pre-made brownie box mix instead?
Sure! You most certainly can, just keep in mind that the premade boxes aren’t going to be as delicious like a homemade brownie is. While premade box mixes are the easy way to go, they don’t taste near as good as a homemade brownie will.
What are the effects of weed brownies?
When it comes to cannabis edibles, they’re going to affect every person differently. This is due to the ECS in our bodies. While some may feel little to no effects on edibles, others may feel sleepiness, intoxication, highness, happiness, pain relief, relaxation, and so much more.
How long can weed brownies last?
If you’re making them homemade, the shelf life will be different than using a box mix. Homemade brownies should be consumed no longer than 7 days, but they can be frozen and last up to 1 month.
Will these brownies make my house smell?
Your house will smell if you’re making your cannabis oil or butter, however, if you’ve already made this previously or purchased the oil beforehand then the brownies themselves will not have a strong smell in your house.
How long does it take for weed brownies to kick in?
This can heavily depend on each person since all bodies are different. Since these will be eaten, orally ingested cannabis will take much longer before it will kick in, anywhere between 1 hour to 3 hours. This could kick in much longer depending on the person. While the side effects are guaranteed to be delayed, the effects of the brownie can last around 6 to 8 hours.
Anything else I should know?
Edibles are responsible for a lot of hospital visits when it comes to cannabis intoxication. It’s important to eat a little at a time, do not binge eat these brownies. Just take some small bites, and do not eat more than one slice of a brownie at a time. Even if they are tasty, it’s important to be patient because it doe take a while for the high to hit you.
What are the side effects of ingesting too much?
There are some adverse side effects of ingesting too much THC such as agitation, anxiety, vomiting, and cardiac stress. So it’s very important to understand that you can only eat just one at a time.
Homemade Weed Brownie Recipe:
¾ Cup of all-purpose flour
4 ounces of unsweetened chocolate
½ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ a cup of cannabutter or cannabis coconut oil
2 room temperature eggs ( or ½ of chia seed paste for vegan)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or maple syrup
¼ of brown sugar
1 cup of white sugar
½ of kosher salt
¼ teaspoon of baking powder
½ a cup of optioning toppings such as chocolate chips, walnuts, caramel, or sea salt
It’s important to preheat your oven to 350 Fahrenheit or 175 Celsius. Make sure it’s already at the temperature before placing your pain inside. You’ll want to start by either greasing your pan or using parchment paper on it. This is important because it will avoid any of the brownies getting stuck to the pain. Non-stick spray, butter, or oil can be used to grease up the pan.
Once the pan is greased or lined with parchment paper, you’ll want to have separate bowls, one will be used for dry ingredients while the other will be used for wet ingredients. You’ll want to first start by mixing all of your dry ingredients such as sugar, flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt. The wet bowl should include vanilla and eggs. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler. Once thoroughly melted you’ll want to tempura the egg by slowly adding the chocolate. This needs to be done or else you may accidentally make chocolate scrambled eggs, which is something you’ll want to avoid.
Slowly mix in the chocolate with the wet ingredients, and then begin slowly adding the cannabutter or oil into the wet bowl. Once it’s fully incorporated and well mixed, you’ll want to then begin slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet bowl. This should be done slowly to make sure all the flour is well mixed up. Once everything is perfectly mixed together, evenly spread out the mix on the greased-up/ lined parchment pan. Be sure to smooth out the texture so it’s all evenly spread out. Give the pan a nice tap on the counter as this will help get air to escape. Add any desirable toppings afterward before placing them into the oven.
Place the pan in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, this will depend on your oven. The toothpick test will most likely not work for this as the brownie batter is very fudgy and chocolatey. Once the timer goes off, allow your brownies to cool off for 30 minutes and enjoy!
